Time to drain the savings in the bank: Apple just presented the iPhone 14! The new phone has a pretty similar design to the one we know (square edges), but is now available in an XXL format called "Plus", which replaces the mini version. The standard version retains the 6.1-inch size, whereas the Plus model has a 6.7-inch display. The panel is still OLED (obviously!) and can fire up to 1200 nits.

As the rumors announced, the iPhone 14 chip is the same as the iPhone 13: the Apple A15 Bionic SoC. It embeds a six-core processor, including two high-performance and four high-efficiency, as well as a neural engine. It's still an excellent chip that can do everything you ask for, but if you want the latest generation SoC, you'll have to switch to the iPhone 14 Pro and its A16 chip.

Apple explains that they have put a package on camera and software optimization with its "Photonic Engine". We keep the camera duo (wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle), but the 12 MPX f/1.5 wide-angle sensor is wider with larger pixels (1.9 microns). The shutter speed is also faster. Apple promises that photos will be twice as good on the ultra-wide angle and the front camera, and even 2.5 times better on the wide angle.

Big changes to the TrueDepth (f/1.9) front camera, with autofocus for the first time. Focusing will be faster, even in low light. The shutter speed is also faster and accommodates 38% more brightness. On the camera side, Apple introduced a new "Action" mode that improves stabilization while you're recording. True Tone flash 10% brighter.

The iPhone 14 will restore crash detection functionality from the Apple Watch Series 8, as well as include an improved gyroscope and accelerometer. Finally, Apple announced a satellite connectivity feature that lets you make emergency calls in locations without cellular coverage. Its functionality is limited in this scenario, so there is no question of having an internet connection anywhere. The sky must be clear to use it, otherwise the delivery time may be longer. The service will be free for two years with the purchase of an iPhone 14, and is unfortunately available for the United States and Canada.

You can choose between 5 colors: black, silver, blue, Product(RED) and light purple. The iPhone 14's battery will last all day, without further speculation. That of the iPhone 14 Plus is "the best ever seen on an iPhone". We'll wait for the full test to see what it is.

Prices haven't moved in the United States: $799 for the iPhone 14, as it was for the iPhone 13 in its time. The iPhone 14 Plus will start at $899, and the American iPhone will no longer include a SIM port: it has to go through an e-SIM.

In France, prices went up: €1,019 for iPhone 14, €1,169 for iPhone 14 Plus. In the 512 GB version, the latter will cost you €1,559! Pre-orders will open this Friday. The iPhone 14 will be available from September 16, but we'll have to wait until October 7 for the Plus version.
